Heaven The teaching of Jesus is on the theme of God's Kingdom in Heaven. It is essential to save your treasures in heaven and to get everlasting life. Because the Jewish people believed that the place where God lives in is heaven since the old days, there was no problem in accepting the teaching of Jesus. It may be still the same nowadays as to the image of heaven. Recognition is that heaven is above clouds in the sky. Although heaven is the place where God is, no one can answer where it is. It is far above the sky. In other words, it is a place nobody knows or can explain clearly. People imagined that heaven is far above the sky as it is in the dream of Jacob in the book of Genesis. Angels go up and down a ladder between heaven and earth. Genesis 28:12 and 13 King James Version (KJV) 12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. 13 And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; Genesis 28:12,13 New International Version (NIV) 12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 13 There above it stood the Lord, and he said: "I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. People those days did not know how far in the sky they need to get to heaven. As the top of the ladder reached the sky shows, it is far beyond the eyes could see. It was good enough for them then to understand where heaven was. The modern understanding, however, the space above the sky is an expanse of infinite space of the universe. 　　　　　 We see stars in the night sky, and we don't see them in the daytime sky. The stars are there in the daytime, but people did not know the truth. The knowledge or idea was not available in those days. The space above the sky is part of the universe and continues to limitless. It is an infinite expanse of space. The most distant as you may go, or to the farthest you may go, you cannot reach heaven. Heaven is nowhere.
